Shotgun Developer

Bardel is currently recruiting for a talented Shotgun Developer to work collaboratively with our Emmy award winning studio team.

The Shotgun Developer will be responsible for integrating our production pipeline with Shotgun for use in production. Production support of shows and departments will also be part of the Shotgun Developer’s responsibilities.

What you will be doing:

  • Primarily responsible for developing high quality, stable code for use within Shotguns Ecosystem
  • Architect, develop and maintain the integration of Shotgun in our production pipeline using Python
  • Collaborating with the pipeline and production supervisors to develop an understanding of production requirements and workflows
  • Problem solving in a dynamic environment to produce high quality, easy to maintain code and services
  • Production support of above integrations in an urgent and timely fashion
  • Perform other Ad Hoc tasks as required

What you bring with you:

  • Exceptional knowledge and experience with the Shotgun Software Platform in particular the Python API and event daemon (Toolkit experience a plus)
  • A university degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar field
  • Minimum 3 years previous VFX or Animation Pipeline experience
  • Experience programming in Python
  • Understanding of production workflow, project management and scheduling
  • Experience with web development is an asset
  • Experience with Git and Github, various build and CI systems
  • Experience developing on Linux
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience testing code and ability to create clear documentation
  • Ability to develop code independently or as part of a team
  • Flexible and able to work in a frequently changing environment
  • Knowledge of relational database design and implementation is an asset
